To say we were delighted with the article in the latest edition of Homespun would be an understatement! Ecstatic would be a better word, and then add a happy dance to that. The lovely girls at Homespun asked if they could do a trial a product a couple of months back. We sent them a selection of threads and word is that the girls in the office were almost in fisticuffs over them. The threads tend to have that effect.

When an early copy came to us in the mail, our entire town knew about it (thanks to Gary at the newsagents who was just as happy as us, and now he knows where the hundreds of boxes of tiny staples go).

If you haven't seen the article, here it is....

With a magazine comes a cup of tea and a monte carlo, absolutely mandatory!

They came, they saw and they.....sat

I joke, they were actually working so much that Pam couldn't stay still long enough to take a steady photo.

...and off they go across the seas to a show near you.

Pam and Brenda are home again and buzzing from the wonderful experience of Sydney.
The feedback and response was so positive and rewarding.

I wonder where we will go and who we will meet next?

We are so excited to announce that Cottage Garden Threads is coming to Sydney in a few days to "The quilt and craft fair" Darling Harbour June 16-20

A stitchery workshop by the Brilliant Brenda Ryan of Thimblestitch will feature Cottage Garden Threads so come and see them in action and how to get the best results. Brenda is so talented and I know her workshop will be highly entertaining and informative, so don't miss it!
Workshop No 4 at 10am

Come and see us at stand 142, will have the full range of threads in Stranded, Perle 8 and Perle 12 as well as the brand new Mirboo Lilly range.
Also, come and see the new "pocket packaging" and how it works to keep your threads organised and protected.

Come and get a full colour catalogue and a list of Australia wide stockists to see who stocks cottage garden threads near you, and if your local shop doesn't, be sure to ask them where they've been hiding and we'll give you an information pack to take back home and show them what they've been missing. If they mention your name, you'll be in for a treat from me!!!

Lesley from Faeries In My Garden has designed a pretty Sewing basket for the Quilters Angel "Girls Stitch in" which you just have to check out the Blog for photos that prove stitchers will endure anything in the name of their craft! Lesley has used Sweet Pea, Salvia and Kookaburra. Isn't it gorgeous!

Hello readers,
It has been so busy over the last few months with the overwhelming success of the Australian Quilt Market back in November and the continued roll on effect. It looks like it's going to be a great year!

I thought you might like to see the threads in action so here are a few designers and their beautiful work.

Leanne Beasley's new quilt 'Down in the Garden' is a refreshing burst of colour. Here you can see Larkspur in the flowers

Brenda Ryan is a beloved friend and stitcher who was the inspiration behind Cottage Garden Threads. Here is just a sample of her work.

Jan Kerton's exquisite stump work is amazing. Her latest work is inspired by a 350 year old piece.

Gail Pan uses a variety of colours in her dainty pincushions and pretty things.

Natalie Ross in stitches, has given us a sneak peak of a new project called 'Flower Pot People'. It looks truly wonderful and we can't wait to see the finished quilt.

Hello stitchers and crafters alike, my name is Katie and I am a small part of "Cottage Garden Threads". I will be having lots of fun being the resident paparazzi and blogging away.

Cottage Garden Threads started with the most talented person I have been blessed to call my mother, but you may know her as Pam.

I have watched with great enthusiasm as Cottage Garden Threads grew from a little seed planted with much support and enthusiasm by Brenda and Leon of Thimblestitch : Brenda Ryan Embroidery Designs. With infinite generosity, they have nurtured Pam's natural talent and eye for colour into a flourishing business, proving to be of high demand with anyone possessing a needle and thread.

We would all agree that stitcher's are generally a calm and sharing bunch, offering words of wisdom and praise at every opportunity but... be warned, Cottage Garden Threads have been known to set them against each other in competition for a last delicious skein.

Our aim is to keep peace in the masses and have plentiful stock ready to dispatch upon request and satisfy frenzied show goers with inspiration, ready made items for sale and a range of patterns and kits. We love meeting customers, hearing feedback and seeing creations from the Cottage Garden Threads range. Hope to see you at a show or by leaving a comment here.
